2007 ACE Award for Ultra Dock

Rathdrum, ID. We are very pleased to announce that Dynamic Fabricators was nominated for the 2007 ACE AWARD in October 2007. The 2007 ACE INFINITE POSSIBILITY category was where Dynamic Fabricators’ unique state-of- the-art durable fiberglass ULTRA DOCK product line for its technology achievement and excellence in composite manufacturing was considered for an award. PPP The ACMA (American Composites Manufacturers Association) invites innovative manufacturers committed to the advancement of composites to submit their products for consideration in the ACE Product Showcase and Competition each year. AMCA is a nationwide industry trade group which represents a cross section of cast polymers, fiber reinforced glass molders, and various high tech glass suppliers including automotive, wind energy, and other industrial entities. A panel of composite industry experts from major market and materials segments and the press judge the competition.

The ULTRA DOCK used for residential and commercial municipal dock systems is designed to be manufactured from a combination of four molds 8’, 6’, 4’ and 3’ wide x 24’ long, each of which may be “dammed off” to any customer specified length, with or without full/partial floatation to be used as dock sections, ramps, or walkways. This 100% composite product aggressively competes against steel, wood, aluminum, and roto molded plastic docks. The low maintenance ULTRA DOCK replaces steel (rust, weight); aluminum (chalking, oxidation, hot, noisy); wood (water logging, rot, splinters, high maintenance) and poly-propylene (weak and unstable).

The ULTRA DOCK was created and developed locally and proprietarily by Dynamic Fabricators’ owner, Wade B. Wolcott. The flotation system is engineered with durable, CNC helical wound foam filled pontoons, fully encapsulated in fiberglass possessing the same preferred characteristics as traditional cedar log docks but with superior structural integrity and longevity. This superior design prevents the foam from washing out, a typical problem with plastic flotation systems, eliminating flotation deterioration and environmental hazard issues. The unique bridge truss structure design provides unparalleled stability allowing the dock system to silently move “with” the water. The decking is molded one-piece durable, weather/water resistant, long lasting EGB sandwich construction manufactured with the highest quality materials and workmanship presenting a beautiful, smooth appearance. The decking is made of vacuum infused glass fiber and balsa, whereby those per-fit items are placed in a mold, sealed with plastic wrap in a negative atmosphere, and then resin is introduced into the chamber. The result is a high quality part which emits zero emissions, and has minimal waste. The innovative diamond slip resistant surface provides a slip resistant surface that stays cool to the touch even on hot days, feels comfortable against bare feet and is easier to keep clean than conventional non-skid surfaces. The decking surface has been technically engineered for superior water dispersion, allowing for surprisingly quick drying time and is able to accommodate easy installation of accessories such as D-rings, cleats, rails, bumpers or swim ladders to name a few.

The docks can be seen at Dynamic Fabricators, LLC’s Rathdrum, Idaho plant located at 22515 W. Hwy. 53 or photos of several installations can be viewed on their product specific website, ultradock.com
